Energy data portability means the secure, easy, and standardized sharing of energy data across systems, services, and platforms. While some efforts have made progress in this respect, there are still challenges with inconsistent access and scalability, hindering important use cases in the energy transition. These use cases, including demand response M&V, VPP deployment, DER and energy efficiency project modeling, and carbon accounting, require data portability that is not only scalable and secure, but also private, granular, standardized, reliable, and timely, with best practices in cyber security and privacy preservation.
This 1-day workshop aims to bring together participants from government, utilities, and industry to identify opportunities for enhancing energy data portability infrastructure and develop collaborative plans to leverage them. The workshop will also feature presentations and discussions on current initiatives for effective sharing of private and anonymized energy data.
