A fun-filled month-long event series that get you contributing to GenAI open source during Hacktober, building up the OPEA project, and adding to your own open source resume! Do you have experience in deploying applications to hyperscalers like AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud? How about packaging them and publishing on package repositories like Canonical? Get these applications up and running on a k8s cluster? This hackathon is for you!

- Opening ceremonies: September 30th – 8:30AM PT – 10AM PT
- Kick off the OPEA Hackathon with our Opening Ceremonies! We'll cover the hackathon's goals, the exciting challenges ahead, and offer you guidance on how to get started. Be ready to dive into a month of coding, learning, and contributing to the future of GenAI!
- Ask Me Anything – Mid-Hackathon Check-in: October 16th 11AM PT – 12:30PM PT
- This mid-hackathon check-in is your chance to get feedback, ask questions, and hear from experts in the OPEA project. Whether you’ve hit a roadblock or you’re looking for additional insight, the Ask Me Anything (AMA) session is designed to help you keep moving forward. Bring your questions, and we’ll help guide you through the rest of the hackathon!
- Closing ceremonies: October 31st at GenAI Nightmares 12PM PT – 3PM PT
- The hackathon wraps up with our Closing Ceremonies, which will take place during the GenAI Nightmares event – a Halloween-themed OPEA Community Meetup! We’ll celebrate all your hard work, highlight standout contributions, and discuss the next steps for the OPEA project. In addition to the hackathon closing, the GenAI Nightmares event will feature spooky surprises, demos, and discussions about the future of GenAI and OPEA. Don’t miss this fun and festive way to close out the hackathon and celebrate Halloween!
